Is Apex & Abyss Pay-to-Win?

The short answer

No. Difficulty is never paywalled, every gacha drop rate and the pity counter are printed on the summon screen, and stamina recharges free over time. You can clear all 200 floors, every boss, and the full endgame without spending a cent.

"Pay-to-win" is a fair question to ask of any free gacha game — most players have been burned. So here is exactly how money works in Apex & Abyss, with nothing buried in fine print.

Difficulty is never paywalled

There is no floor, boss, raid, or Arena rank locked behind a wallet. Every challenge in the game is fully reachable at standard pace with heroes you can earn for free. Spending can save you time; it cannot buy you a clear you couldn't otherwise reach. The climb rewards strategy — formation, positioning, and skill timing — not your card.

Every drop rate is shown on screen

Summon odds aren't a mystery you have to data-mine. The base rates and the pity counter are printed right on every summon banner, before you pull:

RarityBase ratePity guarantee
Legendary1%Guaranteed by 90 pulls
Epic10%Guaranteed by 30 pulls
Rare40%
Common49%

A visible pity counter means a Legendary is never more than 90 pulls away, and you can always see exactly how close you are.

Stamina recharges free

There are no energy gates designed to sell you refills. Stamina regenerates over time at no cost, and the premium currency — Diamonds — and summon scrolls are earned through gameplay, daily gifts, and Arena placement. Buying Diamonds is optional, not the only realistic way to get them.

So what can you buy?

That's it. No stat boosts sold directly, no "win button," no permanent power you can only rent with money.

The Arena is fair

Faster auto-battle is a convenience for re-running cleared floors — it grants no advantage in the Arena and isn't a power boost. Ranked play is fought on your terms against AI rivals, with no live match-making and no timers, so a bigger wallet doesn't translate into a higher rank.
